James Bradberry is one of the top corners in the NFL
New York Giants’ cornerback James Bradberry had a heck of a season in 2020 after recording 44 tackles, 2 forced fumbles, three interceptions and 18 passes defensed.
Nick Shook of NFL.com has released a list of unsung heroes from every NFL team and Bradberry was the Giants’ hero for 2020.
The first of two NFC East cornerbacks on this list is Bradberry, who finished as the 13th-best wide corner in targeted EPA at -6.1. Bradberry also posted a targeted completion percentage allowed below expectation of -5.1, and tied for second in the entire league in passes defensed with 18. Only stellar Dolphins corner Xavien Howard had more than Bradberry, who also added three interceptions to his ledger in 2020 and finished with a ballhawk rate north of 21 percent. That three-year, $43.5 million deal the Giants signed Bradberry to in 2020 looks like a pretty good idea right about now.
Bradberry was amazing this past season for the Giants due to his ability to lock down an entire side of the field. he also did a heck of a job against one of the top wide receivers in the NFL in D.K. Metcalf while helping the Giants pull off an upset win over the Seattle Seahawks.
