Jaylen Waddle would make an instant impact for the Giants
We’re almost two months away from the 2021 NFL Draft and the mock drafts just keep rolling along. This time we have another Pro Football Focus mock.
Austin Gayle of PFF has released his latest mock and has the New York Giants using the 11th overall pick on Alabama wide receiver Jaylen Waddle.
Waddle is arguably a better receiver prospect than Henry Ruggs III was coming out of Alabama in 2020. An explosive, dynamic athlete, Waddle ranks inside the top five in yards per route run (3.64) and yards after the catch per reception (11.5) over the past two seasons.
With the Giants sitting at 11, it would be huge if they’re able to get Waddle because none of the top three receivers in this year’s draft are expected to drop that low. But we have been seeing mock drafts that have had Waddle or his teammate Devonta Smith falling to New York.
if the Giant aren’t able to get one of the top three receivers in the first round, they could still get a very good pass catcher in round two or three.
