Giants need a wide receiver in the first round
In NFL.com draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah first mock draft he had the New York Giants using the 11th overall pick on Alabama wide receiver Jaylen Waddle.
Now in Jeremiah’s second mock draft of the offseason, he has the Giants selecting University of Miami edge rusher Gregory Rousseau. Here’s what he wrote:
I know GM Dave Gettleman has let it be known that he wants to add playmakers on offense. At the end of the day, though, he’s not able to pass up the big, athletic edge rusher.
What’s interesting is that Jeremiah has the Giants passing on both wide receivers in Devonta Smith and Jaylen Waddle. I would be utterly shocked if that is the case and general manager Dave Gettleman takes an edge rusher at 11.
You have to remember this is Jeremiah guessing what the Giants will do in the first round. No one knows what their plan is right now. Gettleman doesn’t even know yet who they will take with the 11th pick. Mock drafts are a fun way to project the NFL draft.
