Kyle Pitts is a pllaymaker
Update: In response to a tweet from another account about the Giants loving Pitts, It looks like Raanan said that the talent evaluator was saying that he or she personally loves Pitts. Not that the Giants do. I made a mistake and thought that Jordan was saying that the Giants love Pitts. But as of right now it looks like we don’t know how much they like him.
Original story: During Jordan Raanan’s recent Breaking Big Blue (25 min mark) podcast, he mentioned that a talent evaluator told him that the New York Giants love Florida tight end Kyle Pitts, who will likely end up being taken in the top half of the first round of this year’s NFL Draft.
Raanan also mentioned that he believes if the Giants end up drafting Pitts that they could decide to trade Evan Engram, which makes sense given that he’s heading into the final year of his rookie contract and hasn’t been as consistent as they would like as a pass catcher.
In case you’re wondering, Pitts didn’t drop a single pass during his final season at Florida in 2020. He was also targeted 31 times in the red zone and of course never dropped one of those passes. It’s almost like he’s the anti-Engram.
Now I do believe if the Giants have a choice between Pitts or one of the top three wide receivers in Devonta Smith, Ja’Marr Chase or Jaylen Waddle that they would pass up on Pitts. But I do believe they would take him if they can’t get one of the top receivers at 11. There is also a chance that Pitts could be taken before 11. We”ll have to wait and see what happens on draft night.

I have a strong feeling that all 3 WRs will be gone when the Giants are on the clock. I think Pitts is a upgrade from Engram but Trading down a few spots, picking up a pick or two and filling other needs helps the Giants even more. If they do take Pitts because the opportunity doesn’t materialize I would keep both Pitts and Engram. I keep reading Pitts is very versatile so let’s cause mismatch nightmares for other teams.
I would choose Pitts over the others
because he can be the next Plaxico. We need
height in the red zone. The others are excellent
but they all will probably be gone including
Pitts when we pick 11
