MetLife is coming back to life for the Giants and Jets
The New York Giants and Jets received some good news on Monday from New Jersey governor Phil Murphy who announced that they will allow MetLife Stadium to be filled to 15 percent capacity starting March 1st. Which means that when both teams are back on the field next season they will have people watching them live and in person.
Below is a statement from the Giants:
The earliest the Giants and Jets will be back playing at MetLife is in August. That’s if the NFL decides to have a preseason. There is a also a chance the 15 percent allotment could go up as long as the number of new COVID-19 cases continue to go down with spring approaching as well as the vaccine being rolled out.
If goes well, I think that capacity could end up being as high as 25-50 percent if all goes well between now and the start of the season. I don’t think we’ll be back to 100 percent capacity until 2022.
