J.J. Watt’s arrival in Arizona could help Giants acquire Hassan Reddick
Free agent pass rusher J.J. Watt dropped a bomb on Twitter on Monday by announcing that he’s signing with the Arizona Cardinals.
This is great news for the Cardinals and their fans because having Watt along with Chandler Jones will present a big problem for opposing offenses. But this is also good for the New York Giants because it could help them strengthen their own roster.
With the Cardinals paying Watt $31 million over the next two years, it is highly doubtful that they will be able to re-sign pass rusher Hassan Reddick.
The Giants could look to bolster their pass rush in the 2021 NFL Draft, but I got a feeling that they will look to free agency to fill that void. Reddick would be a nice option if they’re able to get him for the right price.
The 26 year-old New Jersey native racked up 12.5 sacks in 2020 and had a monster game against the Giants (see the video below). Now the one concern with him is that he looked like a bust prior to this past season because his best season was in 2018 when he had four sacks.
