Micah Parsons over Devonta Smith?
It’s become apparent that everyone that’s been writing up mock drafts this offseason has the New York Giants taking one of three positions with the 11th overall pick. Whether it’s wide receiver, tight end or edge rusher, it makes a lot of sense given all of their needs.
Ryan Wilson of CBS Sports has released his latest mock and has the Giants taking Penn State linebacker Micah Parsons at 11.
The Giants have needs along the offensive line, but the defense could use some upgrades too. Micah Parsons opted out of the 2020 season but he’s the No. 1 LB in this class.
I could certainly see the Giants going with an edge rusher at 11, but there is one problem. Wilson has the Giants passing on Alabama wide receiver Devonta Smith. There is no way New York would pass on Smith and take Parsons. You can’t tell me that Parsons is a better prospect than Smith and getting a number one receiver is not more of a priority than an edge rusher.
