Takk McKinley could help the Giants defense
The free agency period for the 2021 NFL offseason will officially kick off on March 17th. With that being said, the New York Giants will likely target an edge rusher to bolster their defense.
Nick Shook of NFL.com wrote an article that fits one free agent with every NFL team. When it comes to the Giants he has pass rusher Takkarist McKinely being a good fit for them. Here’s what he wrote:
McKinley’s time in Atlanta ended in ugly fashion, with the defender making public pleas for his freedom and bashing the franchise in the process. There was something in the former first-round pick, though, and it only takes returning to his film from his first three seasons to see it. As my colleague Gregg Rosenthal wrote in his top 101 free agents, McKinley showed legitimate juice and might just need the right fit to turn things around. Joe Judge’s Giants feel like that organization, and after the way McKinley’s time with the Falcons ended, he could be had for cheap.
It may not be a bad idea for the Giants to sign McKinley to a one or two year deal with very little risk on their end since he still needs to prove that he’s not a first round bust. If they can get him for cheap, they should jump on signing him.
