Dalvin Tomlinson likely won’t be back with the Giants
I just mentioned a report from Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News that the New York Giants have told Leonard Williams that they want to keep him.
That being said, Leonard also mentioned that the Giants also love Williams’ teammate and fellow defensive lineman Dalvin Tomlinson.
The Giants love DT Dalvin Tomlinson. They will keep him if they can. But there is a good chance Jerry Reese’s 2016 second-round pick gets paid elsewhere.
I think Leonard is right, as much as the Giants want to also keep Tomlinson, I don’t see him staying with Big Blue unless things fall apart with Williams.
Williams is clearly the Giants’ top target to re-sign and if that can’t happen then they would try and keep Tomlinson. But re-signing both players doesn’t really make sense from a financial stand point.
With free agency under two weeks away from starting, we’ll have a better idea of who the Giants will re-sign as we get closer to March 17th.
Even if the Giants can’t keep Tomlinson, they seem to always do a good job of finding very good defensive tackles in the draft.
