Giants need an offensive playmaker
For all of the New York Giants’ mock drafts that I’ve posted I use the Pro Football Focus NFL Draft simulator and pick the players that I would choose if I was the Giants’ general manager.
Here’s this weeks Giants’ mock draft.
1st Round (11) – Florida TE Kyle Pitts
I’m not crazy about the idea of the Giants using their first round pick on Pitts, but none of the top-three wide receivers were on the board and there weren’t any edge rushers that were worth taking as well.
If the Giants do draft Pitts, they would likely have to trade Evan Engram.
2nd Round (43) – LSU WR Terrace Marshall Jr.
I may have reached for a receiver here in Marshall with PFF giving me a grade of a C.
Marshall caught 43 receptions for 731 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2020.
3rd Round (75) – LSU DL Tyler Shelvin
I fully expect either Dalvin Tomlinson or Leonard Williams to not be on the Giants’ roster next season. With that being said, they will need to replace one of them, which is why I selected Shelvin in the third round.
4th Round (116) – Miami EDGE Quincy Roche
I don’t know if Roche will be the top-end pass rusher that the Giants need, but he would be a good pick in the fourth round.
6th Round (197) – Texas Tech G Jack Anderson
Anderson would give Shane Lemieux some competition heading into next season. Especially with Kevin Zeitler possibly on the way out.
6th Round (202) – Penn State C Michal Menet
Menet is purely a pick for depth purposes in the sixth round.
As you can see, PFF loved my first round pick but didn’t care for the second round pick and last pick of my mock.
