Kenny Golladay’s price is likely going down
On Monday afternoon, when teams were allowed to start negotiating with the agents of soon-to-be free agents, some wide receivers like Nelson Agholor, Kendrick Bourne, Corey Davis and others landed with teams from around the NFL.
One player that we didn’t hear anything about is the top free agent wide receiver in Kenny Golladay. It turns out that teams have some questions about him and aren’t ready to go all out to sign him.
Jordan Raanan of ESPN says that teams, including the Giants, are only interested in signing Golladay at certain price points. It sounds like he may not get the pay day that he was looking for.
It will be interesting to see what happens. There might be a chance that Golladay is willing to take a one-year deal in order to answer any lingering questions about his health and consistency as a player.
Right now though, the Giants would need to sign Leonard Williams to an extension in order to free up the money to sign someone like Golladay.
