Markus Golden has a good reason to be upset with Giants
Despite the fact that linebacker Markus Golden recorded 10 sacks for the New York Giants in 2019, their coaching staff led by Joe Judge didn’t have role for him last season, which is why they ended up trading him to the Arizona Cardinals during the season.
With Golden’s contract up now, he decided to re-sign with the Cardinals and admits that he was in a bad place last year with the Giants because of how they treated him.
I’m not sure that Golden would have had 10 sacks in a bigger role with the Giants last season, but I can’t see how he wouldn’t have helped as an edge rusher because that’s the one thing they needed help with all season. It’s not a coincidence that he finished the season with 4.5 sacks in nine games for Arizona.
Now the Giants will hope to make an upgrade either in the draft or free agency so they will have an easier time getting to opposing quarterbacks next season.
