Eli Manning is a savage
Update: Simms has fired back. Second best? Phil Simms was great, but I don’t think there is an argument that Eli is the best Giants quarterback ever. Nice try Chris.
Original: Former New York Giants’ quarterback Eli Manning has quite the sense of humor and is a must follow on Twitter.
Manning posted a photo of an old Athlon Sports magazine with a picture of himself and former NFL quarterback and current NBC Sports analyst Chris Simms on it. He decided to roast Simms by saying that he forgot that he played football. Check it out below.
In case you didn’t know, Simms and Manning played college football around the same time. Simms was taken by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the third round of the 2003 NFL Draft and Manning of course was taken first overall by the San Diego Chargers the following year in the 2004 NFL Draft.
Simms didn’t have a great career as he finished with 3,117 yards, 12 touchdowns and 18 interceptions with a 69.1 quarterback rating. His best season was in 2005 when he threw for 2,035 yards, 10 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
After his football career, Simms was hired by Bleacher Report and now hes’ been working for NBC for the past few years.
With Simms growing up in the New Jersey area and coming back there after his NFL career, I would imagine that he knows Manning well, which is why Eli decided to roast him on Twitter.
