Giants land a very good cornerback in Adoree Jackson
After hauling in the best wide receiver in free agency in Kenny Golladay over the weekend, the New York Giants are now signing the top cornerback on the market in Adoree Jackson.
Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network broke the news on Twitter.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter says the Giants are signing Jackson to a three-year, $39 million contract.
Rapoport had some more details on his contract.
All of a sudden the Giants now have one of the top secondary’s in the NFL with Jackson, James Bradberry, Jabrill Peppers, Xavier McKinney and Logan Ryan. Not to mention a good second-year corner in Darnay Holmes who will play in their nickel packages.
The Giants’ gain is also the loss of their bitter rivals in the Philadelphia Eagles who were expected to bring in Jackson for a visit. Of course his trip to Philly has now been canceled.
When it comes to the defensive side of the ball, the next big improvement the Giants need to make by adding a a very good edge rusher and they can do that in the draft next month.
