Kenny Golladay gives the Giants some freedom
The majority of NFL mock drafts that have been released so far this offseason have been predicting that the New York Giants will use the 11th overall pick on a wide receiver.
Now that the Giants have a number one receiver in Kenny Golladay, they don’t have the pressure on them to take someone like Devonta Smith or Jaylen Waddle in the first round.
The addition of Golladay now gives the Giants the flexibility to take a cornerback, offensive lineman, edge rusher or any other position they want with the 11th pick. Ultimately I think they will take the best player on their draft board.
I honestly thought that drafting a receiver instead of signing someone like Golladay would be a better move for the Giants, but the good thing about having a proven receiver is that he has NFL experience and you know he can get the job done. Unlike a rookie who has to prove himself.
Now if the best player on the Giants’ board when they’re on the clock at 11 is a receiver, they could take one, or trade down. It’s going to be interesting to see what happens on draft night. But the good news is that they notw have more felxibility.
