Giants still need a premiere edge rusher
We’re a month away from the 2021 NFL Draft, so I have another New York Giants seven round mock draft for you.
Like all of my mock drafts, I used Pro Football Focus’ NFL draft simulator and made the following picks based on the best player that was available.
1st Round (11) – Penn State LB Micah Parsons
I think taking an edge rusher in the first round makes the most sense, unless one of the top three receivers are still available at 11.
In this case, all of the top receivers were off the board and Micah Parsons was sitting there for the Giants.
Parsons recently revealed at the Penn State pro day that he has been in contact with the Giants, so we know they’re interested.
2nd Round (43) – Alabama C Landon Dickerson
Dickerson had an injury plagued college career so this is a very risky pick. But he can be a monster at the next level and probably play guard as well as center.
3rd Round (75) – Tennessee WR Josh Palmer
Despite all of the moves the Giants made in free agency, I would still like to see them take a receiver within the first three rounds because of how deep this class is.
Palmer would be a nice pick in the third round.
4th Round (116) – Louisiana Tech DL Milton Williams
The Giants did just sign Danny Shelton, but it’s a one-year deal and getting a young defensive lineman wouldn’t hurt with Dalvin Tomlinson now gone.
6th Round (197) – Kansas HB Pooka Williams Jr.
I would like to see the Giants add a young running back at some point in day three. Pooka Williams Jr. is an exciting player.
6th Round (202) – Wisconsin T Cole Van Lanen
It wouldn’t hurt to take a flier on a late round offensive tackle.
