Giants are banking on their offensive line
The New York Giants have already solved some of their problems this offseason via free agency. But one question heading into the 2021 NFL season is whether or not their young offensive line can hold up and get the job done.
Former NFL general manager and Hall of Famer Bill Polian says that the weapons the Giants added won’t matter if their line doesn’t get the job done.
“The key to the Giants is the offensive line. Unless they get that solved the weapons won’t mean a thing,” Polian said on the Colin Cowherd Podcast. “They have got to protect him and they’ve got to be able to block for the run. That’s job 1 and I suspect they’ll address it in the draft.”
Polian is right, but if the Giants sat back and didn’t add weapons it wouldn’t have helped them either.
The feeling I get is that New York are comfortable with their young line and have confidence in them. They did finish 2020 very strong and played well against a very difficult defensive fronts down the stretch.
