The draft is getting closer
The 2021 NFL Draft is almost three weeks away from happening and the New York Giants will have plenty of options in the first round and beyond.
Like all of my mock drafts, I used Pro Football Focus’ NFL draft simulator and made the following picks based on the best player that was available.
1st Round (11) – Oregon T Penei Sewell
I think taking Sewell and having him play right tackle would be a good move and maybe having second-year offensive lineman Matthew Peart play right guard, or vice versa.
2nd Round (43) – Georgia EDGE Azeez Ojulari
If the Giants can get an edge rusher like Ojulari in the second round, they would be in great shape for 2021.
3rd Round (75) – UCLA DL Osa Odighizuwa
The Giants could use a young replacement for Dalvin Tomlinson after he signed with the Minnesota Vikings and this is where Odighizuwa comes in.
4th Round (116) – Tennessee WR Josh Palmer
Even though the Giants signed wide receiver Kenny Golladay in free agency, adding a player like Palmer in the fourth round would be a good move.
6th Round (197) – Michigan RB Chris Evans
The Giants need to add a young running back and this is where Evans comes into play.
6th Round (202) – Florida CB Marco Wilson
It doesn’t hurt to take a flier on a corner in the sixth round. Wilson had a great season in 2019 with three interceptions for the Gators.
