Devonta Smith could be the best reeceiver in this year’s draft class
The New York Giants got their new number one receiver when they signed Kenny Golladay last month in free agency.
Heading into the 2021 NFL Draft later this month, it sounds like the Giants could take a receiver early on. Matt Lombardo of Fansided’s GMEN HQ mentioned that people around the NFL think that New York general manager Dave Gettleman really likes Alabama wide receiver Devonta Smith.
There is a feeling inside the NFL that Gettleman is enamored by Alabama wide receiver DeVonta Smith. But, even if the NY Giants go in a different direction with the No. 11 overall choice, don’t be surprised if Gettleman adds a receiver sometime in the first two days.
This wouldn’t surprise me given how much the Giants seem to love everything related to Alabama with all of the former Crimson Tide coaches they keep hiring and the players they continue to bring in from the SEC powerhouse.
While the odds are Smith won’t fall to the Giants at 11, it could happen with so many teams clamoring for a quarterback within the first five picks. Many really good players like Smith could fall.
