Giants adding another corner?
A recent report came out that the New York Giants and free agent cornerback Jason McCourty share a mutual interest in one another.
Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported on Friday that the Giants are bringing in McCourty for a visit.
With Rapoport stating that both sides are exploring a possible future move, that tells me that if the Giants aren’t happy after the draft with their cornerback situation they might sign McCourty.
The Giants already signed cornerback Adoree Jackson this offseason but he was brought in to start opposite for James Bradberry. McCourty would give the Giants another veteran player that can add depth and play in certain packages.
I think even if the Giants draft a corner, they might be tempted to sign McCourty during training camp if they’re not happy with their crop of players and he’s still on the market.
McCourty will turn 34 years-old in August, so he is certainly past his prime. For now we’ll have to wait and see what happens.
