Jaylen Waddle will be a serious threat in the NFL
The New York Giants are going to have a tough decision to make when they’re on the clock with the 11th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
CBS Sports analyst and NFL.com writer Charles Davis has released his first mock draft of the offseason. In it, he has the Giants selecting Alabama wide receiver Jaylen Waddle.
A strong case can be made for snagging an edge rusher here, but adding another talented playmaker for QB Daniel Jones makes sense, too.
What’s really interesting about Davis’ mock is that he has both Waddle and his college teammate Devonta Smith falling out of the top-10 with Smith going to the Philadelphia Eagles at 12. He’s also right that getting an edge rusher will be tempting, but won’t be worth it value wise at 11.
If I was the general manager of the Giants, I would not hesitate to draft Smith or Waddle and if they’re not available I might trade down to take an edge rusher.
