Wayne Gallman has found a new team
Update: Gallman got a one-year deal.
Original: News came out on Monday that former New York Giants’ running back and current free agent Wayne Gallman will be visiting with the San Francisco 49ers.
It looks like both sides are happy with the visit because ESPN’s Field Yates is reporting that Gallman has signed with the 49ers.
Gallman rushed for 682 yards, 4.6 yards per carry and six touchdowns in 2020. I got a feeling that he will put up some numbers for the Niners. I would imagine that Gallman will be Raheem Mostart’s back-up. It will be interesting though to see what kind of role they carve out for him.
Gallman proved in 2020 that he belongs in the NFL as a running back, but the problem is that it’s not a premium position that teams are willing to pay a lot for.
I’m looking forward to see what kind of contract Gallman got. My guess is that it will be for two years and pay him around $2 million per year.
