Should the Giants take a pass rusher at 11?
With the possibility of four quarterbacks being taken in the top-10 there is a good chance that some really good players will fall to the New York Giants at 11.
If the Giants are able to get someone like Kyle Pitts, Devonta Smith or Rashawn Slater, it wouldn’t make sense for them to grab a pass rusher unless they trade down.
During Thursday’s press conference, Giants’ director of college scouting Chris Pettit made it clear that he thinks that using the 11th overall pick on an edge rusher makes sense.
“Edge rushers [are] how you win,” Pettit told reporters. “You win with guys that rush the passer. I wouldn’t say there aren’t guys [worthy at that pick].”
Now Pettit could be bluffing because NFL teams love to keep their draft plans under wraps and will often do whatever it takes to throw other teams off. All we can do is wait and see what happens one week from today in Cleveland on draft night.
