Kyle Pitts looks like a special player
Heading into the 2021 NFL Draft, the New York Giants have a lot of needs but I imagine that they wouldn’t mind adding another offensive weapon despite their free agent spending spree.
One player that looks like a freak of a talent is University Florida tight end Kyle Pitts. Giants’ general manager Dave Gettleman was asked about him while talking to the media on Thursday.
“He’s a uniquely talented player,” said Gettleman, via Giants Wire. “You can’t characterize him as just a receiving tight end. He’s got a lot of blocking grit. … He’s a different breed of cat, now.”
If the Giants are able to somehow draft Pitts, which I doubt, I think it’s safe to say that they would then trade current starting tight end Evan Engram or let his contract run out and not re-sign him. More than likely though Pitts will get taken in the top-five, but that could mean that someone like Devonta Smith or Jaylen Waddle could fall to the Giants.
