Should the Giants take Kwity Paye?
With the 2021 NFL Draft less than in a week away I don’t think anyone including the New York Giants who know who they will use the 11th overall pick on.
Josh Edwards of CBS Sports has released an NFL mock draft and he has the Giants taking Michigan edge rusher Kwity Paye.
Round 1, Pick 11: Kwity Paye EDGE, Michigan, SR, 6’4″, 272 pounds
Giants fans are not a fan of this pick, I’m sure, but we all agree that it is not totally unforeseen, right? Dave Gettleman loves to add players at the line of scrimmage and he missed on Josh Allen a few years ago. No one saw Clelin Ferrell, Mitchell Trubisky, Blake Bortles and others being selected where they were taken either. If the draft was ever straight forward, you likely would not be reading a mock draft to gain insight.
What’s interesting though is that Edwards thinks they would pass on Alabama cornerback Patrick Surtain II and wide receiver Devonta Smith. I don’t think the Giants would pass on Smith. Especially with the latest report on how much they like him.
I do think that the Giants would take Paye at 11, but it will be interesting to see if they would pass on Smith in favor of him.
