The time has come
It is finally here, draft week. The 2021 NFL Draft will officially begin this coming Thursday evening. You can find all of the details on how to watch it right here.
Like all of my mock drafts, I used Pro Football Focus’ NFL draft simulator and made the following picks for the New York Giants based on the best player that was available.
1st Round (11) – Alabama WR Jaylen Waddle
While these are the picks that I would make if I was the Giants, I do think that there is a really good chance that they will draft Waddle or Devonta Smith if they fall to 11.
2nd Round (43) – Oklahoma EDGE Ronnie Perkins
I feel like the Giants have to take an edge rusher within the first two rounds because it’s their most glaring need right now heading into the 2021 NFL season.
3rd Round (75) – Florida OT Stone Forsythe
Forsythe is a monster at 6-foot-8, 307 pounds. He only allowed 16 pressures on 513 passing blocking snaps, according to PFF.
4th Round (116) – Kentucky CB Kelvin Joseph
Joseph didn’t have the most impressive season in 2020, but he played great against teams like Tennessee and Alabama.
6th Round (197) – Texas A&M DT Bobby Brown III
The Giants need to add a young defensive lineman.
6th Round (202) – Louisiana HB Elijah Mitchell
It wouldn’t hurt to grab a running back late and see what he can do. If the Giants don’t draft one they will certainly sign a rookie as a free agent.
