Penei Sewell is the top tackle in this year’s draft
I personally believe that the New York Giants’ offensive line is in good shape heading into the upcoming 2021 season. But if they have a chance to pick up an offensive lineman within the first few rounds of this year’s NFL Draft, it would make sense.
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler believes the Giants could be enticed to trade up for University of Oregon offensive tackle Penei Sewell.
“If Oregon left tackle Penei Sewell is there, [the Panthers] also really like him. So they could either take him or trade him back to some teams that have done a lot of research on him like the Giants at 11 or the Chargers at 13,” Fowler said.
I don’t think trading up for Sewell would be the right move for the Giants given that they already only have six picks in this year’s draft. They could still get a good offensive lineman in the second or third round if need be.
For now, the Giants should try and move back in the first round in order to get an edge rusher.
