Giants need to trade down, not up
I’m going to tell you why trading Engram to move up doesn’t make sense for the Giants.
First and foremost, why would the Giants want to trade up? For Kyle Pitts? I know he’s a great looking prospect, but if anything New York need to trade down to acquire more draft picks and take an edge rusher in the first round.
Secondly, for all we know Engram could bounce back this coming season and stop dropping the crucial passes that he did in 2020. You also don’t trade up into the top-10 for a tight end in the NFL. Now if a team wants a quarterback, that would make sense, but not for a tight end.
Even if Engram has another bad year, the Giants will have Kyle Rudolph to rely on if they have to as well as Kaden Smith. So anyone mentioning New York trading Engram to move up, just doesn’t make sense to me.
