Aaron Rodgers isn’t the answer for the Giants
ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported on Thursday that Green Bay Packers’ star quarterback Aaron Rodgers wants out.
Teams have also been reaching out to gauge the Packers’ interest in trading Rodgers, but no one has made a offer, according to Schefter.
So my question is, should the New York Giants try and trade for Rodgers?
My answer is simply, no.
Rodgers is currently 37 years-old and will be turning 38 in December. I know he’s a great player, but we don’t know if he’ll be playing at the same high level when he’s 40 years-old like Tom Brady.
Not to mention that the Giants aren’t a quarterback away from a Super Bowl like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were this past season. They still need other parts.
It would only hurt New York to give up draft assets and possible some of their talent to acquire Rodgers. I know there are people out there that probably think my thinking is stupid, but if you believe the Giants trading for Rodgers would make them Super Bowl contenders, you’re lying to yourself.
