Kadarius Toney is going to be a problem for opposing teams
Former NFL wide receiver and NFL Network analyst Nate Burleson mentioned on Friday’s “Good Morning Football” that he thinks that New York Giants’ rookie wide receiver Kadarius Toney is a “major steal” after they traded down and used the 20th overall pick on him.
In his analysis of Toney, Burleson compared him to former Giants’ wide receiver Victor Cruz because of his ability to make cuts and avoid defenders.
Even though Toney isn’t the biggest player on the field, he is a physical player that will lower his shoulder, which is a plus. He can also take screen passes and let his talent do the rest to move the ball down the field. Aside from running back Saquon Barkley the Giants don’t have many players that are great with screen passes, which is why he could become an important offensive player for them.
Burleson also mentioned that Toney flourishes with jet sweep plays, which is something a lot of NFL teams use. He has such a great knack for making people miss, which is why he’s so good at making big plays.
Like I mentioned earlier today, Toney can also line up as a running back. There are just so many things you can do with him.
