Will Azeez Ojulari hold up?
Well the New York Giants used their second round pick on Georgia edge rusher Azeez Ojulari, who is a first round talent. The reason he fell so far is because of a degenerative knee issue that has teams concerned.
Giants’ reporter Dan Duggan of The Athletic mentioned on Friday morning that Ojulari tore his ACL in high school and redshirted during his freshman year at Georgia. But the good news is that he never missed a snap for the Bulldogs.
Duggan also said that renowned doctor, Dr. James Andrews examined Ojulari’s knee back in January and informed teams from around the NFL that it’s strong and doesn’t have any issues. Now teams likely did their own examinations and some were turned off. The Giants on the other hand must feel confident in his knee.
The Giants got amazing value with this pick and hopefully Ojulari is the edge rusher that they need to get back to the playoffs.
