Giants need an edge rusher on day two
With the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft now behind us, we can look forward to the second and third rounds on Friday night.
The New York Giants made a big move on Thursday night after trading down from 11 to 20 and acquiring a bunch of picks from the Chicago Bears. This still allowed them to get one of the top receivers in this year’s draft in Florida’s Kadarius Toney.
So who will the Giants take in the second round? They still need an edge rusher, so Georgia’s Azeez Ojulari makes the most sense even though there are some health concerns. But in ESPN’s second round mock draft, they have New York taking Alabama center Landon Dickerson. Jordan Raanan says the Giants like Dickerson.
The Giants need to address their interior offensive line, and Dickerson is a Day 1 starter at guard or center. He’s an exceptional leader and true finisher in the running game.
Dickerson would be a great pick if the Giants didn’t need an edge rusher so badly. If they do take Dickerson, they better hit a home run in round three and get a pass rusher that can start right away.
