The Giants need to take an edge rusher on day two
In under four hours the second and third rounds of the 2021 NFL Draft will begin as teams from around the league will get ready to make their picks.
ESPN New York Giants’ insider Jordan Raanan listed off some players to watch on day two for Big Blue.
With the Giants’ biggest need still being at edge rusher, I would be shocked if they don’t take one in round two. Then again, I thought they were going to grab one in the first round after trading down, but of course I was wrong.
Azeez Ojulari makes a lot of sense, but there are some medical red flags, according to draft insider Tony Pauline. So drafting him could be a big risk.
The Giants could also look at drafting pass rusher Joseph Ossai from Texas, but the second round might be too high to take him.
Aside from edge rusher, the expectation is that New York will look to add an interior offensive lineman after releasing veteran Kevin Zeitler this offseason. Alabama center Landon Dickerson would be a great option if he didn’t have such a robust injury history.
