Jags wanted Kadarius Toney
Jacksonville Jaguars’ first year head coach Urban Meyer revealed that he was hoping that Florida wide receiver Kadarius Toney would fall to them at the 25th overall pick in the first round.
Of course the New York Giants traded down from the 11th overall pick and selected Toney. Meyer said it “broke our heart.”
Well this goes to show you that Toney would have definitely been taken in the first round. There were some thoughts that he could slip into the second round. It’s a good thing that Giants’ general manager Dave Gettleman decided to take him at 20.
Meyer is one of the best college football coaches ever and knows talent. Hopefully the Giants know how to utilize Toney’s skillset. I got a feeling he’s going to be a nightmare for opposing teams because he can line up anywhere on the field on offense.
Meyer and the Jags were able to boost their offense in the first round with quarterback Trevor Lawrence and running back Travis Etienne.
