Darius Slayton is going to have to fight for snaps
I think it would be an understatement to say that the New York Giants are loaded with talented receivers now with Kenny Golladay, Darius Slayton, John Ross, Kadarius Toney, Sterling Shepard, Evan Engram and Kyle Rudolph.
With that being said, I think it’s safe to say that Slayton’s job as the Giants’ number two receiver is up in the air. You could of course argue that Shepard is their number two guy, but I’m talking about when he’s in the slot.
Heading into training camp I would imagine that Slayton, Ross and Toney will battle it out for who gets the most snaps aside from Golladay and Shepard.
Slayton is a good player that was a fifth round pick for the Giants in 2019. He’s been coming along nicely, butt he will need to break out even more if he wants to continue to see the snaps he’s been getting during his first two years in the NFL.
At this point I think Slayton will be the favorite between himself, Ross and Toney to get the most snaps heading into the regular season because of his experience in the Giant’s offense. But I wouldn’t be surprised if Toney wins out in the end because New York will give him every chance to do so.
