Giants got a lot better this offseason
When taking a quick look at the players the New York Giants acquired through the 2021 NFL Draft, it looks like they did a very good job. But we won’t truly know for a few years.
Now there are some winners and losers after this past weekend’s draft and here they are.
Jones has been winning all offseason because the Giants have intentionally gone out of their way to make sure he has enough weapons to succeed. Now he just needs to go out on the field and ball out this coming fall.
In total the Giants now have four new pass catchers on their roster with Kenny Golladay, John Ross, Kadarius Toney and Kyle Rudolph being added this offseason.
The addition of edge rusher Azeez Ojulari should take some pressure off of the Giants’ talented secondary, which will in turn help them make plays.
No one knows how this draft class will pan out for the Giants, but Gettleman has done a great job on loading up on weapons and most importantly adding more picks for the 2022 NFL Draft that give them a total of 10.
Darius Slayton & John Ross
I just mentioned that Slayton will have to fight to not lose snaps in 2021 and the addition of Kadarius Toney and John Ross is why.
When it comes to Ross, he probably didn’t realize the Giants would add another receiver through the draft. Now he has even more competition.
Darnay Holmes & Issac Yiadom
The addition of cornerbacks Aaron Robinson and Rodarius Williams will knock Yiadom far down the depth chart unless he can have an amazing training camp.
When it comes to Holmes, he will now have to fight to keep his starting role as New York’s nickel corner.
