Dave Gettleman has a point
Even though New York Giants’ general manager Dave Gettleman admitted that they looked into trading for both Russell Wilson and Aaron Rodgers, they’re committed to current starter Daniel Jones.
During an interview with WFAN’s Moose and Maggie Show, Gettleman made it clear that they believe in Jones.
“With Daniel, you don’t have to beg him to study and watch film. It’s the voluntary period so he does what he does, but one of the things that was critical in making the decision to draft him was seeing if he is naturally driven, and there’s no doubt about that,” Gettleman said.
Gettleman also mentioned that Giants’ fans were spoiled by Eli Manning and I tend to agree.
“We were spoiled by Eli Manning’s dedication and how he carried himself as the face of the franchise. It was important to me that the next guy in could be that guy, and there’s no doubt in our minds Daniel is that.”
New York fans in general aren’t very patient with players. Giants’ fans wanted Manning gone right before they won the Super Bowl in 2007.
