The Giants could still improve their roster
With the NFL Draft now behind us, teams like the New York Giants may want to look into signing some free agents in order to sure up some positions on their roster.
Below I’ve listed five free agents the Giants should consider signing.
DT Sheldon Richardson
Richardson ended up being a cap casualty of the Cleveland Browns and hasn’t missed a game since 2017.
With the Giants failing to draft Dalvin Tomlinson’s replacement, signing someone like Richardson to a one or two-year deal wouldn’t be a bad idea.
EDGE Justin Houston
The Giants have a lot of players on their roster at the edge rusher position, but adding someone like Houston wouldn’t hurt after he recorded eight sacks in 2020.
Adding a proven pass rusher makes a lot of sense for the Giants with so many guys on their roster that aren’t proven or have under achieved.
OT Eric Fisher & OT Mitchell Schwartz
I know Giants’ general manager Dave Gettleman believes in his young offensive line, but it’s not a bad idea to bring in Fisher or Schwartz to play right tackle and maybe have Matthew Peart play right guard. I know they have Nate Solder, but the competition wouldn’t hurt.
EDGE Melvin Ingram
Like Houston, Ingram is a proven pass rusher, but he is coming off an injury plagued season in 2020 and that means the Giants could get him on a cheap one-year deal.
