Giants wanted Jamin Davis?
A video surfaced from the Indianapolis Colts themselves that show how shocked they were when the New York Giants used the 20th overall pick on wide receiver Kadarius Toney instead of taking Michigan pass rusher Kwity Paye.
Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post revealed that the Giants first round pick was down to Toney and linebacker Jamin Davis.
It was a no-brainer for the Giants to take Toney because of the fact that Davis was taken by the Washington Football Team at pick 20, so they essentially had no choice and it seems like they didn’t want Paye in that spot.
A linebacker like Davis would have been good, but adding another weapon to an offense as bad as the Giants’ was in 2020 was probably the better move anyway. The Giants defense is good enough right now to make the playoffs with Azeez Ojulari on board after they selected him in the second round.
