Kelvin Benjamin still good enough?
With former star wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin trying out for the New York Giants this weekend, the assumption is that he is trying to make their roster as a receiver. But that may not be the case.
A guy by the name of Logan Robinson tweeted that he’s spoken with Benjamin and he will compete at tight end.
Robinson runs a website called NoleGameday.com, specializing in covering Florida State sports. I’m assuming that he has some connection to Benjamin who played his college ball at FSU.
I’m not sure how credible his tweet is, but this makes sense given the fact that Benjamin has had a hard time staying fit during his NFL career and some people thought he should move to tight end coming out of college.
Tight end also makes sense for Benjamin because it would be very difficult for him to make their roster now that they’re so loaded at wide receiver with Kenny Golladay, John Ross, Sterling Shepard, Darius Slayton and Kadarius Toney.
Now we can wait and see if Benjamin gets at least a contract to come back and compete in training camp.
