Daniel Jones doing his part to get ready
It was reported earlier in the day that about half of the New York Giants’ roster showed up for the start of the team’s offseason workout program on Monday.
One player in particular that showed up is quarterback Daniel Jones, according to Jordan Raanan of ESPN.
This doesn’t surprise me because Jones still has to prove that he’s a legit franchise quarterback and not showing up wouldn’t be a good move for him.
Earlier in the offseason Jones did spend some time with his receivers and other offensive players out in Arizona, so he’s been working hard to have a breakout year in 2021.
I wonder which other veterans joined Jones at the Giants’ facility on Monday. We do know for a fact that most of the defensive backs are down in Florida working out with starting safety Logan Ryan, so they likely were not a part of the group at the Quest Diagnostic Center.
It’s not a big deal who shows up and who doesn’t because the workouts are voluntary. There isn’t any evidence that shows that teams who have 100 percent attendance do better during the regular season.
