Giants still not getting much respect
We are about eight weeks away from the 2021 NFL season kicking off with training camps opening up late in July.
With all of the moves that the New York Giants made this offseason they’re hoping that this is the year that they will get back to the playoffs with starting quarterback Daniel Jones leading the way.
Rick Gosselin of Sports Illustrated has posted his offseason power rankings and has the Giants at number 22. Here’s what he wrote:
22. NY Giants. The Giants stacked their offensive shelves by drafting WR Kadarius Toney in the first round and signing WRs Kenny Golladay and John Ross in free agency. Saquon Barkley also returns after sitting the bulk of 2020 with a knee injury. The cast is there for QB Daniel Jones to succeed. There are no excuses now. This will be a make-or-break season for Jones.
With the NFL regular season being increased to 18 weeks (17 games), the Giants will likely have to win 10-11 games in order to make the playoffs. I would have said 11, but the NFC East has been pretty bad lately.
Until the Giants prove otherwise, ranking them in the low 20’s is fair.
