Giants have a great set of safeties
The New York Giants’ safety trio of Jabrill Peppers, Logan Ryan and Xavier McKinney should be a problem for opposing offenses this coming season.
Both Peppers and Ryan were great last season and McKinney was able to come back from an injury and play well, so we will see how he does in a full 17 game season barring another injury. But expectations are high for this groiup.
Sam Monson of Pro Football Focus has released a list of the top 32 safeties in the NFL. Only one of the Giants’ safeties made it and that is Peppers. He came in at number 26.
Between being a former first-round pick, used in a debatable way early in his career and then used as a makeweight in the trade for Odell Beckham Jr., it would be easy to dismiss Jabrill Peppers as a bust, but he is far from a bad player. Peppers has made 27 defensive stops in each of the past two seasons and has at least 10 total pressures in each of the last three.
Peppers definitly made that Odell Beckham Jr. trade worth it, but I still want to see him continue to get better because he has so much potential still. It’s also obvious that Ryan signing with the Giants last year was a big help.
