Evan Engram is likely still the clear cut starter
With around seven weeks until training camp kicks off, I thought I would go through the position groups and what battles we can expect to see. First up is the tight ends.
When it comes to the tight end position I think Evan Engram and Kyle Rudolph will be a 1A and a 1B. Now Engram will be the “starter,” but if he struggles at any time, don’t be shocked if Rudolph gets more playing time.
The battle that we can really expect to see during camp will be between Kaden Smith, Levine Toilolo and Kelvin Benjamin. Benjamin is the one guy that is a longshot to make the team because with Rudolph on the Giants’ roster now and the fact that they likely won’t keep four tight ends, Toilolo, Smith and Benjamin are fighting for the final spot.
My feeling is that Smith will come away with the third and final tight end roster spot because he’s an all-around better player than Toilolo and Benjamin.
