Patrick Graham was amazing last season
New York Giants’ defensive coordinator Patrick Graham spoke with the media on Wednesday and was once again asked why he didn’t interview for the New York Jets’ head coaching job earlier in the offseason.
“This is my dream job to be here as the defensive coordinator of the New York Giants,” said Graham, via Art Stapleton of the Bergen Record.
Graham also mentioned that he loves working with head coach Joe Judge as well as the other coaches.
Graham said that he would love to field 11 defensive tackles at one time in response to safety Logan Ryan saying on Tuesday that he would love for the defense to put 11 defensive backs in at once. When Graham was younger he played on defensive line, which is why he would put 11 defensive lineman on the field at once.
It’s refreshing to hear how much Graham enjoys coaching with the Giants because it seems like everytime they find a good young defensive coordinator they end up leaving. The last great one they had was Steve Spaguolo and then he left to coach the St. Louis Rams. Of course he came back later on but it set their defense back at the time.
Hopefully Graham doesn’t go anywhere anytime soon because if he has another great season, teams will look to hire him as a head coach.
