Giants have a very good looking secondary
The New York Giants secondary was pretty good last season with James Bradberry, Jabrill Peppers and Logan Ryan all having great seasons.
The Giants got even stronger in the secondary this offseason after signing cornerback Adoree Jackson to lock down the opposite side of the field from Bradberry. They also drafted Aaron Robinson in the third round so he can come in and battle for the starting nickel corner spot. With these additions the Giants could have one of the top secondaries in the NFL this coming season.
Ben Linsey of Pro Football Focus has released a list where he ranks every secondary in the NFL. The Giants are at number seven.
7. NEW YORK GIANTS
In two years, the Giants have gone from starting Janoris Jenkins and a combination of B.W. Webb and Eli Apple at outside cornerback to a projected James Bradberry–Adoree’ Jackson duo in 2021. Bradberry’s 79.9 coverage grade last season ranked seventh among qualifying cornerbacks in his first year with the Giants. Jackson’s 82.5 mark in 2019 in his last full season of action ranked sixth. The potential is there for this to be one of the best cornerback tandems in the NFL.
Those two — along with a deep safety group that includes Jabrill Peppers, Logan Ryan and Xavier McKinney — give defensive coordinator Patrick Graham a lot to work with on the back end.
Linsey has the Denver Broncos as the top secondary with the Baltimore Ravens and the Cleveland Browns right behind them.
One thing that is going to help the Giants’ secondary this season is the fact that their pass rush should be better with rookie Azeez Ojulari on the edge.
