New COVID-19 rules are in place for the NFL
With the 2021 NFL season coming right up with training camps kicking off in just over five weeks, the NFL and NFLPA have agreed on new COVID-19 protocols.
Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network posted the protocols on Twitter.
The protocols will keep unvaccinated players, coaches and other personnel from gathering outside of the team facility or team travel. This includes practices and training activities.
Here are some more details from Pelissero.
Players that aren’t vaccinated will not be allowed to attend nightclubs, bars, house parties, concerts, etc. NFL teams are allowed to fine players up to $50,000 for the first offense.
When it comes to fully vaccinated team personnel, they will be tested every two weeks, instead of every day like unvaccinated individuals.
This may not seem fair to some people, but this is the world we live in right now. When you work for a private company like the NFL, they can make these rules in order to benefit their business. It’s better if people are vaccinated and have a much lesser chance of catching COVID0-19, because it will keep them on the field and other people safe.
