Corey Clement will be an interesting back to watch during the summer
Heading into training camp this year we already know who the New York Giants’ starting running back will be, Saquon Barkley. Now if he’s not ready for Big Blue’s season opener against the Denver Broncos you can expect Devontae Booker to get the nod.
The training camp battle at running back this summer will be between rookie sixth round pick Gary Brightwell and veterans Corey Clement and Ryquell Armstead for the third and likely final roster spot.
Out of the three backs that I listed above I think Brightwell is the long shot out of the group to make the final 53-man roster due to the fact that he’s a rookie.
Ryquell Armstead is a solid back that missed last season after complications to COVID-19. Clement is the one player out of the group that has the most NFL experience and even helped the Philadelphia Eagles win the Super Bowl a few years ago.
I think Clement is the front-runner at this point and has the best chance at locking down the third and final running back spot.
