Kadarius Toney dealing with hate from Giants’ fans
Leading up to this year’s NFL Draft, one of the things that NFL teams were concerned about when it came to New York Giants’ wide receiver Kadarius Toney, was his rap career. Of course teams were worried that football wouldn’t be number one in his life.
“He’s got some swagger. He actually has, like, two (recorded) albums and three additional singles. It’s a concern whether he has enough commitment to do it at this level with all the stuff he has going on,” one anonymous scout said, per Sports Illustrated.
Despite the concerns, the Giants felt comfortable using the 20th overall pick on Toney.
“We fully vetted every player on this board. We are very comfortable bringing him to New Jersey. We are very comfortable adding him to our roster to compete with other players on the team,” Giants’ head coach Joe Judge told reporters back in April.
For some reason there are Giants’ fans that don’t like that Toney has a rap career. He just released a video under his stage name “Yung Joka.”
“Don’t kome over here kommenting on my music, and it ain’t got in to do with you! I been rappin almost 3 years now. You late! Football aint goin nowhere. Ima live my life however i want. Watever is said…i don’t kare! On god, football is some i do…it don’t make me who I am.”
I don’t understand why fans are all over Toney like this. Let him show the world what he can do before you criticize what he does off the field. If he turns out to be a bust then that is on Judge and general manager Dave Gettleman.
