Vaccination rates rising within the NFL
With training camp now about five weeks away, it looks like more and more players from around the NFL are getting the COVID-19 vaccine.
Albert Breer of The MMQB reported last week that 16 of the 32 teams in the NFL have 51 or more players vaccinated right now. Of course as I’m writing this that number could be higher and I would imagine that five weeks from now the percentages will have gone up.
The NFL and NFLPA agreed on updated COVID-19 protocols last week and it’s obvious that the league is trying to incentivize players for getting vaccinated. This makes sense given the fact that outbreaks will only hurt the league and their financial bottom line. If a star quarterback gets COVID and can’t play on Sunday Night Football, the television ratings will go down for that game. That is just one example of how players not getting vaccinated can hurt the NFL and their franchises.
I wonder how many Giants’ players have gotten vaccinated. We do know that cornerback James Bradberry is still uncertain on what he will do prior to the season starting. We also know that safety Jabrill Peppers received a vaccine.
